The Big Picture
Now see all these 3 decks together one above the other. Now, the picture above shows that the 2nd level eastward bound bridge as well as the 3rd level exclusive ambulance ramp down overlap and are above one another, but that is not the reality. That is happening because the picture above does not provide for an adequate space there for me to show what I mean. The ambulance ramp down is proposed to land down on the rightmost side of the Jerbai Wadia Road, and that too much ahead, closer towards the Dr. J. B. Naik Chowk, ahead of the Tata Cancer Hospital bridge, to accommodate for the taller descent from the 3rd level. And whereas, the 2nd level eastward bound bridge shall land down on the leftmost side of the Jerbai Wadia Road and that too considerably earlier i.e. before the Tata Cancer Hospital Bridge. And therefore, both these landings do not cause any conflict.
Now, I know that the private Tata Cancer Hospital Bridge comes in the way of the ambulance ramp down, but removing that bridge and rebuilding it at a higher level is an easier solution. Now, I am aware, that I am suggesting a lot of structural changes of all kinds, including this replacement of the Tata Cancer Hospital Bridge, but all these suggested changes are a small price to pay for the greater good that is proposed to be achieved. Also, with this plan, the Jerbai Wadia Road, the Dr. Ernest Borges Road as well the Acharya Donde Marg all form a triangular right moving roundabout further aiding the smooth movement of the traffic. And for this to work smoothly, the existing Metro line's Pillars will have to be changed. Presently, the Pillars divide the Dr. Ernest Borges Road in two halves. But since, as per the GMP-P, the Dr. Ernest Borges Road will be southward bound one way, the Metro's Pillars will have to be removed from the centre and placed on the sides in a reverse U-Shaped form clearing the Dr. Ernest Borges Road from the middle. But no sweat there. The Metro is anyways required to be rebuilt in that much section for another reason as you can see in the following pages.
But isn't this 4-lane wide eastward bound landing of the 2nd level Connector not likely to further clog the already busy Bhoiwada Naka one would argue? Not so quickly my friend I'd say. I am beginning to love what my head is conjuring up. Like how McDonald says, "I am loving it!"
