The Lower Westward Deck
We build the Lower Westward Deck starting from the Acharya Donde Marg a little after the KEM Hospital circle and land it down just after crossing it over the railways, but before the Senapati Bapat Marg, on the Jagannath Bhatankar Marg, right where the existing Prabhadevi Flyover starts / lands. But mind you this Lower Westward Deck is a four-lane wide bridge, thus doubling the westward traffic capacity.
Now, in doing so, we first have to demolish the existing Paral TT junction North-South Hindmata Flyover which is at the level of this Lower Westward Deck, and let that North-South traffic travel on ground. Now, please understand, that this Three-Tier triple decker Connector of the GMP-P ensures that there is no conflict between these linear and the perpendicular traffics and therefore the existing Hindmata Flyover becomes redundant, and thus can and ought to be demolished.
And this is where the MMRDA has miserably failed. Every infrastructure addition is done to resolve the then prevalent issues. But whenever a bigger infrastructure is slated to come, one needs to prioritize that infrastructure addition over everything else, and that I am afraid, the MMRDA has failed to do. They never thought of doing away with, or suitably tweaking, the existing infrastructure. They have failed to understand that the Paral TT Hindmata Flyover can be demolished now that a bigger infrastructure is coming over it.
